The Lung Biology Laboratory's research addresses basic mechanisms of lung inflammation and injury. We use mouse models, cultured endothelial and epithelial cells, confocal and two-photon microscopy, primary endothelial cell isolation, and standard cell and molecular methods. Ongoing projects in the laboratory address mesenchymal stem cells, mitochondrial mechanisms, lung endothelial barrier regulation, protein therapy, alveolo-capillary signaling, and innate immunity.
