Dr Grishok's lab is using nematode C. elegans for studying how RNA interference is involved in regulation of gene expression on the transcriptional level. The areas of investigation include both mechanistic studies of chromatin-related RNAi factors as well as genetic studies of RNAi mutants and their effects on cellular differentiation, development and longevity. One of the projects in the lab is focused on understanding how RNAi pathway genes cooperate with Rb in repressing germ cell fates in somatic tissues.
