Peter Tang, MD, MPH specializes in nonoperative and operative treatment of all problems of the upper extremity from the finger to the elbow/arm, ranging from trauma including fractures, crush injuries and lacerations, nerve compressions such as carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome, masses such as ganglions and tumors, tendon problems including trigger fingers and De Quervain's, and arthritic conditions. He is actively involved in research which is focused on wrist biomechanics and nerve regeneration and has presented his research at numerous national meetings. In 2010 and 2011 his studies won first prize at the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand’s (NYSSH) Resident’s and Fellow’s Night. Lastly, he has been awarded research funding from the Orthopaedic Research Education Foundation (OREF) and the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS).

Dr. Tang has been selected for several prestigious programs including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ (AAOS) Clinician Scientist Development Program in 2010, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand’s (ASSH) Future Leaders Program in 2009, and the American Orthopaedic Association’s (AOA) Emerging Leaders Program in 2009. Dr. Tang is involved in the training of medical students, residents and fellows. He is extremely committed to the highest quality of medical care and seeks the best outcomes for his patients.
