Dr. Lee specializes in primary and revision hip and knee replacement and focuses on the operative and non-operative care of the patient with joint pain. His primary goal is to alleviate pain associated with degenerative joint disease while improving function, mobility, and independence.
He has a particular interest in utilizing computer-assisted navigation during surgery. Computer navigation helps to ensure accurate placement of the implants with the ultimate goal of improving clinical outcomes and extending the longevity of the hip or knee replacement.
When appropriate, Dr. Lee uses minimally invasive techniques and new technology to provide the best possible outcome for the patient. Dr. Lee also treats fractures of the lower extremities, and has a particular interest in fragility fractures of the elderly and fractures around joint replacements.
Dr. Lee focuses on the patient as a whole person and works with each patient and their family to customize the best possible treatment plan. While he specializes in hip and knee surgery, he will only recommend an operation if he feels it will give the best result for the individual patient, focusing first on non-operative treatments.
Dr. Lee is active in teaching and research and is the author of research papers and book chapters in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery. His research interests include improving outcomes for joint replacement patients, computer navigation in joint replacement surgery, and studies aimed at determining the cause of osteoarthritis.
