Nicole S. Belkin, MD, specializes in non-operative and operative treatment of injuries and conditions affecting the knee, shoulder, and hip. She is an expert in minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques. Her clinical focus is in the treatment of ligament, articular cartilage, meniscus, and patellofemoral injuries of the knee; rotator cuff and labrum injuries of the shoulder; and labrum injuries and impingement of the hip.

Born and raised in Long Island, NY, Dr. Belkin relocated to Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science, graduating summa cum laude and valedictorian from the University of Florida. She also received her medical degree from the same university. Dr. Belkin completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania, during which she elected to dedicate an extra year to laboratory research. Her research won the Orthopedic Research and Education Foundation’s Resident Clinician Scientist Award and has been presented nationally and internationally.

During her recent fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr. Belkin worked with more than 26 experts in their field, gaining advanced training in the treatment of complex articular cartilage injuries, meniscal injury and deficiency, failed ligamentous reconstruction, patellofemoral malalignment, shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, and femoroacetabular impingement.

Dr. Belkin is dedicated to providing individualized and state-of-the-art care to athletes of all descriptions and pursuing research that will enable orthopedists to safely return patients to their desired level of activity following injury, while preventing premature osteoarthritis.

Dr. Belkin has served as Assistant Team Physician for the New York Giants, Associate Team Physician for Iona College athletics, and Orthopedic Consultant to New York Public School Athletic League. When she is not working, she can frequently be found at the gym, biking, hiking or doing something outdoors with her spouse and their cocker spaniel.
