Dr. Louis Amorosa specializes in the operative and non-operative treatment of spine conditions and orthopedic trauma. His practice focuses on caring for disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine with a special emphasis on complex spinal reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, and cervical spine surgery. He also treats complex skeletal trauma of all types, including pelvic fractures and acetabular fractures, nonunions, and malunions.

Dr. Amorosa received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame where he graduated magna cum laude and was a Fulbright Scholar. He completed medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he was awarded AOA, followed by residency in orthopedic surgery at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital where he was a chief resident and was awarded the Harrison McLaughlin award for excellence in orthopedic trauma care. After completing his residency, Dr. Amorosa completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Following his trauma fellowship, Dr. Amorosa went on to complete a combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals and the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the North American Spine Society.
