  • Leonard C. Harber Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University Medical Center
Dr. Belsito is an internationally recognized expert in immunodermatology, contact dermatitis and occupational dermatology. He received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City and thereafter a residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University Hospital, followed by a dermatology residency and immunodermatology fellowship at New York University Medical Center. Prior to joining the Columbia faculty, he was Clinical Professor and the former Director of the Division of Dermatology, University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

He is the immediate past-president of the North American Contact Dermatitis Group and a founding member and former president of the American Contact Dermatitis Society. He is a member of the Expert Panel for both the Cosmetic Ingredient Review and the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials. Dr. Belsito serves on the editorial boards of Dermatitis, Contact Dermatitis, and the Online Textbook of Dermatology. He has authored or coauthored more than 150 articles published in peer-reviewed journals that address multiple areas including occupational dermatoses, contact dermatitis, atopic eczema, psoriasis, and other immune-mediated dermatologic disorders.

Dr. Belsito is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Dermatology, and is certified in Dermatological Immunology: Diagnostic and Laboratory Immunology.

Dr. Belsito has been nominated to 2013 Castle Connolly's Best Doctors in the New York Region and and is featured in New York Magazine 2013 Best Doctors.
